Dr. Peter Kronen is a researcher affiliated with the Musculoskeletal Research Unit (MSRU) at the Vetsuisse Faculty of the University of Zurich and contributes to Veterinary Anaesthesia Services International in Winterthur. His work focuses on advancing anesthetic techniques in large experimental animals (rabbits, sheep, pigs, goats) and developing pain diagnosis through behavioral schemes (pain scales), comparing these with neurophysiological parameters for clinical relevance.
He is involved in the VASTA School, an internationally recognized program offering advanced training in veterinary anaesthesia. The curriculum includes six modules covering physiology, pharmacology, anaesthetic techniques, pain management, equipment monitoring, and clinical anaesthesia, delivered via a blended learning approach combining lectures and workshops. Courses are available in Switzerland, Poland, Greece, and Romania, with expansion plans into Asia.
