Peter Kindler

Peter Kindler serves as Professor of Private Law, Commercial and Corporate Law, Private International Law and Comparative Law at the Faculty of Law, Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München (LMU Munich). His chair is situated within the Department of Civil Law at Veterinärstr. 5, Room 406 in Munich.

Professor Kindler's research focuses on comparative legal systems with particular emphasis on German-Italian legal connections. His work bridges civil law traditions across European jurisdictions with special attention to commercial applications and cross-border legal frameworks. He maintains strong institutional ties with Italian legal academia through the Research Center for Italian Law.

Professor Kindler leads the lecture series 'Comparative Law and Foreign Private Law' and is scheduled to participate in the May 2025 biennial conference 'University Education' at the University of Ferrara, focusing on higher education systems in Germany and Italy. His academic activities demonstrate ongoing engagement with contemporary legal education frameworks and international academic cooperation.

Professor Kindler oversees a research team comprising several academic staff members including Vincent Aßbichler, Matteo Bruno Fontana, Peter Moser, PD Dr. jur. David Paulus, and Julian Fidelis Otto, along with student assistants Julius Gleissner, Anna Rugger, and Anna Schneider. His former team includes notable legal scholars such as Prof. Dr. Matthias Wendland, LL.M. (Harvard).
