Professor Dr. Peter Kajüter holds the Chair of International Accounting at the University of Münster’s School of Business & Economics. He is a Full Professor specializing in corporate reporting, sustainability reporting, and international accounting. His academic career includes roles at Heinrich-Heine-Universität Düsseldorf (2005-2006) and ESCP Europe Berlin (2005-2006). He earned his PhD from the University of Dortmund in 1999 and an MBA from the University of Münster and Edinburgh University Management School in 1993.
Research Focus: Kajüter’s work centers on corporate reporting frameworks, sustainability disclosures, risk management, and the integration of non-financial data. He has authored influential works on CSRD compliance, EU Taxonomy reporting, and integrated reporting standards. His research bridges accounting practices with regulatory developments, emphasizing transparency and stakeholder accountability.
Awards: Recipient of multiple accolades including the Best Teaching Award (2017, 2014), Vernon Zimmerman Best Paper Award (2014, 2012), and the Controlling-Ehrenpreis 2014. He has also contributed to shaping accounting standards as an Associate Editor of Accounting Education and through roles in professional committees like the European Accounting Association.
Professional Activities: Kajüter leads the Accounting and Auditing master’s program and chairs the International Accounting Center. He advises institutions such as the BVBC and serves on the board of the I-ADVISE AG. His academic service includes roles in the German Accounting Association (VHB) and the Schmalenbach Society.
