Peter Joseph Fritz is a Professor in the Religious Studies Department at College of the Holy Cross since 2011. His academic expertise spans Catholic systematic theology (especially Karl Rahner), modern Christian history, theological aesthetics, theology and visual art, and critical responses to neoliberal capitalism. He earned a PhD from the University of Notre Dame, preceded by studies at Loyola University Chicago and Boston College.

His research focuses on Rahner's theological aesthetics, mercy-based critiques of neoliberal capitalism, just peace frameworks, and intersections between theology and contemporary art. He has co-edited Religion, Protest, and Social Upheaval (Fordham, 2022) and contributed to Church Life Journal and America. Awards include the Edward Bennett Williams Fellowship.
