معرفی
Peter Jahns serves as an Adjunct Professor at the Institute for Photosynthesis and Stress Physiology of Plants, Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf. His research program investigates light acclimation mechanisms in photosynthetic organisms, with emphasis on photoprotective energy dissipation processes in land plants and algae under fluctuating light conditions.
His core research interests include:
- Photoprotection in photosynthetic apparatus
- Regulation of non-photochemical quenching
- Molecular mechanisms of light acclimation
- Plant stress physiology and metabolism interfaces
- Metabolomics of photosynthetic organisms
Analysis of publications from 2009-2019 reveals consistent focus on molecular determinants of energy dissipation, particularly PsbS protein function and xanthophyll cycle dynamics in photosystem II. His work integrates biophysical techniques with molecular approaches to elucidate optimization of light utilization under environmental stress.
No scientific awards were documented in source materials. Research activities were supported by institutional funding during 2013-2018. He maintains operational connections with the institute's Plant Metabolism and Metabolomics Facility and Imaging Platform for experimental work.
