Peter H. Seeberger

Professor Peter H. Seeberger leads the Department of Biomolecular Systems at the Max Planck Institute of Colloids and Interfaces in Potsdam, Germany, where he directs cutting-edge research at the chemistry-biology interface.

His work centers on carbohydrate synthesis and glycobiology, with major contributions to automated glycan production, tuberculosis vaccine development, and SARS-CoV-2 immunological studies. Key methodologies include microfluidic reaction systems and synthetic glycan platforms.

Current DFG funding supports three major initiatives: glycosaminoglycan antibodies for atopic disease research, alveolar glycocalyx functions in lung defense, and the SYNTH Transregio project exploring synthetic glycan applications.
