Peter Friberg

Peter Friberg is a Professor at the University of Gothenburg's School of Public Health and Community Medicine. His research focuses on stress and resilience in adolescents, exploring their long-term impacts on hypertension, psychological ill-health, and cardiovascular disease (CVD). He leads the STARS cohort study involving 2287 Swedish adolescents across 16 municipalities, with follow-ups planned through age 23 and integration with Swedish epidemiological databases. His work emphasizes mindfulness-based interventions, intersectoral collaboration, and global health equity through studies in Sweden, Kenya, and South Africa.
