Peter Fraňo

Peter Fraňo, PhD., serves as Associate Professor at the Faculty of Arts, University of Constantine the Philosopher in Nitra (UCM), specializing in systematic philosophy within the Department of Philosophy and Applied Philosophy. His academic trajectory centers on classical philosophical traditions with emphasis on Roman intellectual history.

His research focuses on the systematic dimensions of Cicero's philosophical activity, examining how Cicero synthesized Hellenistic thought into coherent frameworks. Key areas include philosophical methodology in antiquity, rhetorical structures of philosophical discourse, and the interplay between politics and epistemology in Republican Rome. His work bridges historical analysis with contemporary hermeneutic approaches to classical texts.

Following a rigorous habilitation procedure initiated on 09.09.2020, Fraňo was awarded the title of Associate Professor on April 20, 2021, by the Rector of UCM Trnava. The commission chaired by Prof. Peter Sýkora (UCM Trnava) included scholars from Comenius University Bratislava and Prešov University. His habilitation thesis addressed foundational questions in Cicero's integration of Stoic, Academic, and Peripatetic traditions.
