Peter Folkow

Peter Folkow is an Associate Professor at Chalmers University of Technology’s Dynamics department under the Mechanics and Maritime Sciences school. His research focuses on structural dynamics, elastic wave propagation, composite materials, and piezoelectric energy harvesting.

• Leading projects: Damage to buildings from blasting vibrations (2024–2029, funded by BeFo and SBUF), Dynamic load amplification for bridges (2024–2027, funded by Swedish Transport Administration)

His work includes analytical modeling of cylindrical shells, nonlinear MEMS dynamics, and numerical simulations of blast-induced vibrations. He has contributed to energy harvesting design optimization and anisotropic wave scattering theories.
