معرفی
Prof. Peter Bouwknegt is a Professor of Theoretical Physics and Mathematics at the Mathematical Sciences Institute (MSI), Australian National University (ANU). His research focuses on mathematical physics, with expertise in conformal field theory, string theory, K-theory, and geometric structures. He holds a PhD from the University of Amsterdam and an MSc from Utrecht University, alongside fellowships from the Australian Mathematical Society (FAustMS) and the American Physical Society (FAIP).
His work bridges theoretical physics and advanced mathematics, addressing topics like T-duality, spherical geometry, noncommutative spaces, and topological phases. Key contributions include advancements in spherical T-duality, bundle gerbes, and applications of algebraic topology in string theory. He has led or collaborated on projects such as 'Reaching new frontiers of quantum fields and gravity through deformations' (2024–2027) and 'Ubiquity of K-theory and T-duality' (2015–2019).
- Education: PhD (Amsterdam), MSc (Utrecht)
- Research Interests: Conformal field theory, string theory, quantum gravity, algebraic geometry, topological field theories, and noncommutative geometry.
- Recent Projects: Spherical T-duality, quantum field deformations, and categorical structures in physics.
Prof. Bouwknegt’s publications span foundational studies in T-duality, parafermionic systems, and topological invariants, with notable works in Journal of High Energy Physics and Communications in Mathematical Physics. His interdisciplinary approach has positioned him as a leader in mathematical physics research at ANU.
