Peter Augat

Prof. Peter Augat is a University Professor and Institute Chair at the Paracelsus Medical University (PMU) leading the Institute of Biomechanics. He specializes in orthopedic biomechanics, fracture fixation, and musculoskeletal trauma research. His work focuses on surgical outcomes in hip arthroplasty, bone healing mechanisms, and advanced fracture stabilization techniques.

Research interests include total hip arthroplasty longevity, fracture morphology analysis, and infection management in nonunion cases. Recent studies explore biomechanical evaluations of fixation devices and post-traumatic muscle recovery.
