Petar Milosavljević

Petar Milosavljević serves as a full Professor in the Department of Surgery, Orthopedics and Ophthalmology at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, University of Belgrade. He teaches Clinical Pathology and Therapy of Equines, Anesthesiology, General Surgery, and Special Surgery courses.

His research spans Veterinary Surgery, Anesthesiology, and Comparative Anatomy with emphasis on equine physiology, mustelid neuroanatomy, and canine pathology. Key investigations include racehorse exercise biochemistry, mink brain morphology, drug-induced renal failure in dogs, and pioneering dirofilariasis studies in Yugoslavia.

Publications from 1989-2013 reveal evolving expertise: early epidemiological work on canine dirofilariasis (first Yugoslav cases in 1989) expanded to diverse physiological and pathological models across equines, canines, and mustelids, demonstrating clinical veterinary applications through biochemical, histopathological, and morphological analyses.
