Per Øystein Hansen

Per Øystein Hansen is an Associate Professor at the University of Inland Norway, Faculty of Health and Social Sciences, Department of Public Health and Sports Sciences. He serves as Section Leader for Sports and Physical Education, with a fixed-term position ending February 2024.

• Education: Doctorate from the Norwegian School of Sports Science (Sport Management)

Research Interests: Focus on organizational and leadership dynamics in elite sports, with particular emphasis on multi-level leadership structures, knowledge integration in high-performance contexts, and national team management. His work explores cultural dimensions in Norwegian elite sports systems and feedback mechanisms in athlete development.

Recent Publications: Analyze leadership frameworks in elite biathlon, cross-country skiing systems, and global elite sports cultures. Articles highlight collaborative knowledge creation and reflective practices in top-tier athletic training.

Key Collaborations: Regularly works with researchers like Svein S. Andersen and Berit Skirstad on multi-level leadership studies. Affiliated with the Norwegian School of Sports Science network.
