Per van der Wijst is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Communication and Cognition at Tilburg University's School of Humanities and Digital Sciences. His research examines perspective-taking processes in communication and negotiation contexts, particularly how people overcome egocentric biases.
Research focuses on:
- Mechanisms of perspective-taking in communication
- Effects of feedback on reducing egocentric bias
- Trust development in online and face-to-face mediations
- Impact of environment on negotiation outcomes
He teaches courses on Online Public Relations and Negotiation Strategies, and maintains external activities as a tennis coach alongside his academic work.
