Per Sederberg is a Professor of Psychology and Director of the Cognitive Science Program at the University of Virginia. His research focuses on linking human memory behavior to neural mechanisms through computational models and neuroimaging techniques.
His work spans cognitive psychology, quantitative psychology, systems neuroscience, and behavioral neuroscience. He employs fMRI, EEG, and large-scale behavioral experiments to study memory formation, retrieval, and oscillatory correlates.
His publications highlight research on gamma oscillations, temporal contiguity in memory, computational modeling of memory dynamics, and neural correlates of encoding/retrieval. These studies often bridge experimental neuroscience with theoretical frameworks.
Dr. Sederberg leads the UVA Computational Memory Lab, conducting interdisciplinary research at the intersection of psychology, neuroscience, and computational methods.
