Per Rudqvist is an Associate Professor at the Department of Microtechnology and Nanoscience, Chalmers University of Technology. He holds the title of Docent and has been active in academic and industry roles since obtaining his PhD in 1997.
His research interests revolve around the physics and device physics of chiral liquid crystals, with a focus on optics, electrooptic effects, and practical applications. He has contributed to over 70 research papers and textbook chapters, advancing knowledge in materials science and nanotechnology.

He served on the Board of Directors of The International Liquid Crystal Society from 2004 to 2012 and co-founded Orthocone Innovation Technologies AB, a company focused on developing orthoconic antiferroelectric liquid crystals and their technological applications.
