Per Gösta Andersson is an Associate Professor at the Department of Statistics, Stockholm University. He holds a doctoral degree in mathematical statistics from Göteborg University (2001) and has previously held positions at Linköping University, Örebro University, and Uppsala University.
His research focuses on survey sampling and asymptotics in statistical theory, with particular emphasis on nonresponse problems and calibration estimation techniques. He has also investigated the construction of approximate confidence intervals for the binomial parameter p, advocating against the use of the Wald interval due to its poor performance.
Recent work includes the development of variance estimation for calibration estimators and exploring efficient auxiliary variable construction in sampling scenarios. His publications in Survey Methodology and Statistical Science reflect these themes, with a focus on improving estimator accuracy and pedagogical clarity in statistical methods.
