Pepijn W.H. Pinkse

Pepijn W.H. Pinkse is an academic affiliated with the Faculty of Science and Technology (TNW) at the University of Twente, Netherlands. He holds the chair in 'Adaptive Quantum Optics' since September 2019 and serves as director of the Centre for QUAntum NanoTechnology Twente (QUANT). Previously, he coordinated the Strategic Research Orientation 'Applied Nanophotonics' and the Applied NanoPhotonics (ANP) cluster at the MESA+ Institute for Nanotechnology.

• Habilitation (2008), University of Konstanz, Germany

His research focuses on the intersection of nanophotonics and quantum optics, particularly in adaptive quantum systems. He leads initiatives in quantum nanotechnology and has contributed to cavity quantum electrodynamics (QED), cooling and trapping of single atoms, and cold molecules. Ancillary activities include advisory roles at QuiX Quantum B.V. and QSA Technology BV, where he serves as Chief Scientific Officer.
