Pep Aviles

Pep Aviles is an Associate Professor holding joint appointments in the Architecture and Statistics departments at Pennsylvania State University. Based in the Stuckeman Family Building, their research bridges architecture with socio-economic analysis. They received the inaugural Obel Teaching Fellowship (2023) recognizing excellence in pedagogy.

Research focuses on modern architectural movements, material culture, and political/economic influences on built environments. Key themes include Italian interwar architecture, postwar reconstruction, and autarky policies' impact on design practices.
