Peng Du serves as Assistant Professor and Director of the Master of Urban Design – Future Cities (MUD) Program at Thomas Jefferson University's College of Architecture & Built Environment, while concurrently holding the university-wide position of Assistant Provost for Research & Scholarship. He maintains significant leadership roles at the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat (CTBUH) as Director & Board Member of the Asia Headquarters and Co-Chair of the Academic & Teaching Committee.
His educational credentials include:
- PhD in Architecture from Illinois Institute of Technology
- Master of Architecture from Tongji University
- Bachelor of Architecture from Shandong Jianzhu University
Dr. Du's research integrates computational methods to investigate relationships between urban form and environmental/social performance in high-density cities, focusing on building energy intensity, daylight availability, thermal comfort, visual interest, green space, and solar potential. His work on net-zero urban systems employs data-driven and simulation-based tools, receiving coverage from Curbed, CityLab, and Smart Cities World.
As MUD Program Director, he oversees graduate education in urban design while leading CTBUH initiatives in tall building research and academic outreach. His professional certifications include LEED AP BD+C and WELL AP credentials in sustainable building practices.
