Peijun Li is an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Mathematics at Purdue University. He holds a Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics from Michigan State University (2005), an M.S. in Computational Mathematics from the Chinese Academy of Sciences (2001), and a B.S. in Computational Mathematics from Wuhan University (1998). His professional appointments include Professor (2017-present), Visiting Associate Professor at City University of Hong Kong (2014), and Postdoc at University of Michigan (2005).
Dr. Li's research focuses on inverse scattering, wave propagation in complex media, and computational PDEs, with applications in optics and electromagnetics. He develops numerical methods for solving direct/inverse scattering problems and designs finite-element algorithms for wave modeling.
His NSF grants include active funding for projects on biharmonic wave scattering (2022-2025) and elastic wave inverse problems (2019-2022). Awards include the Calderon Prize and NSF CAREER Award. He serves on editorial boards for Inverse Problems and Imaging and CSIAM Transactions on Applied Mathematics.
Dr. Li teaches undergraduate/graduate courses in linear algebra, differential equations, and computational electromagnetics. He actively organizes conferences on inverse problems and wave propagation, including workshops at Purdue (2016, 2022) and international congresses.
