Peichao Zhang

Peichao Zhang serves as China Faculty for Applied Psychology in China at Wuhan University's School of Professional Psychology and Health, holding the position of Contract Research Fellow at the Modern Psychology Research Center. He concurrently acts as Vice Chairman of the Hong Kong Psycho-Analytical Society and maintains active membership in the Chinese Mental Health Association, Psychoanalysis Special Committee, and Youth Working Committee.

His academic credentials include:

• PhD of Philosophy, Wuhan University
• MA of Psychology, Wuhan University

Zhang possesses extensive clinical expertise with over 10,000 hours of hands-on experience spanning individual consultations, group therapy, family counseling, and supervision. His psychoanalytic training includes 1,000+ hours at The American Institute for Psychoanalysis, complemented by 800+ hours of clinical supervision. Research focuses on deep clinical applications of psychoanalytic theory, particularly in relational dynamics and therapeutic interventions for complex mental health cases.

He has developed specialized curricula including the "Couples as Inquiry" course and provides critical clinical supervision within professional training frameworks. Zhang's leadership extends to shaping psychoanalytic practice standards through his committee roles and cross-institutional collaborations between Chinese and international mental health organizations.
