Peggy Whiting, Ed.D., serves as Professor and coordinator of the Counselor Education Program within the School of Education at North Carolina Central University. A counselor educator since 1986, she previously held faculty positions at Vanderbilt University (1986–1993) and Winthrop University (1994–2006). She maintains dual licensure as a clinical mental health counselor supervisor and K-12 school counselor.

Professor Whiting's research centers on grief, trauma, and crisis counseling with specialization in thanatology.
