Pedro Oliveira

Dr. Pedro Oliveira serves as Guest Faculty for the Sound Studies and Sonic Arts (MA) program at the Berlin University of the Arts in 2025. He is a researcher, sound artist, and educator specializing in decolonial and sonic thinking within the Department of Sound Studies and Sonic Arts.

His academic credentials include:

Dr. Oliveira's research centers on decolonial studies, sound studies, and sonic arts, with significant contributions to media and cultural studies. As a founding member of the Decolonising Design research platform, he develops critical frameworks to dismantle colonial paradigms through artistic-scholarly practice. His work investigates sound's political dimensions in cultural contexts, emphasizing listening as a decolonial methodology.
