Pedro Lima is an Associate Professor at the Lisbon Higher Technical Institute (IST) of the Technical University of Lisbon. He serves as the Portuguese National Delegate to the European Space Agency’s Programme Board for Human Spaceflight Microgravity and Exploration and is President/founding member of the Portuguese Robotics Society.
His research focuses on intelligent control systems, discrete event dynamic systems theory, and planning under uncertainty for large-scale complex systems like multi-robot teams. He coordinates the Intelligent Systems group at the Institute for Systems and Robotics.
During his research stay at UC3M (2010), he developed decision-theoretic approaches for human-robot interaction involving robot collectives.
