Pedro Ferreira

Pedro Ferreira is a Digital Futures Postdoctoral Fellow at KTH Royal Institute of Technology, SciLifeLab, and Karolinska Institute (KI) in Stockholm. His research focuses on computational methods for analyzing spatial and single-cell sequencing data from tumors, with an emphasis on reconstructing tumor evolution using cell lineages and trajectories.

• PhD in Biosystems Science and Engineering from ETH Zürich (2024), supervised by Niko Beerenwinkel and Jack Kuipers.

His work bridges computational modeling, statistical analysis, and cancer biology. Key tools include the open-source tumorevo package for simulating tumor evolution under spatial constraints, generating synthetic data for bulk, single-cell, and spatial transcriptomics.
