معرفی
Pedro Arias Sánchez is a full-time Lecturer at the Universidad de Vigo (UVigo), specializing in geomatics and civil engineering. He has been actively involved in teaching and research since at least 2013, focusing on topics such as geospatial data management, LiDAR applications, autonomous vehicles, and energy-efficient infrastructure. His teaching roles include courses on construction management, geomatics applied to energy efficiency, and electrical installations.
His research interests emphasize the integration of advanced technologies like deep learning and LiDAR in civil infrastructure analysis, autonomous systems, and smart city applications. Notable areas include real-time localization using UAVs, semantic segmentation of 3D point clouds, and BIM model generation from LiDAR data.
He has supervised over 40 student projects since 2013, covering topics such as UAV-based environmental disinfection, LiDAR-based road safety indices, and deep learning applications for infrastructure inspection. His work often bridges geomatics with engineering, addressing challenges in smart infrastructure, autonomous systems, and environmental monitoring.
