Peder Lombnæs

Peder Lombnæs serves as Vice-Dean for Research at the Faculty of Applied Ecology, Agricultural Sciences and Biotechnology at the University of Inland Norway. He is based at the Blæstad campus within the Department of Agricultural Sciences, which has a long tradition of agricultural education dating back to 1923.

His research expertise centers on sustainable agriculture, aligning with the faculty's strategic focus on sustainable production and management of biological resources. The faculty conducts critical research in sustainable farming practices, antimicrobial resistance, forestry innovations, and wildlife management through a one-health approach. Lombnæs oversees research initiatives that address regional and global food security challenges while connecting agricultural science with ecological sustainability.

As Vice-Dean for Research, he leads strategic development across the faculty's three departments and manages the Sustainable Agriculture research group. His leadership supports INN's research output which contributed 711.83 publishing points in 2023. The faculty maintains strong international collaborations through the International Research School in Applied Ecology (IRSAE) with 13 partner institutions and participates in the national Photosyntech PhD school.

Lombnæs works within a faculty that integrates practice-oriented research with educational programs to address societal challenges in agriculture and ecology. His position connects university research with regional stakeholders throughout Innlandet County, ensuring research remains relevant to practical applications in sustainable food production systems.
