Pearse Gaffney

Pearse Gaffney is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Management Science at the Darla Moore School of Business, University of South Carolina. He holds a B.S.I.E. from Tennessee Technological University and a Master of Industrial Statistics from the University of South Carolina, and is currently a Ph.D. candidate in Industrial Engineering (Engineering Management) at the University of Alabama in Huntsville. With over 20 years of industry experience across automotive, industrial equipment, machinery, and nuclear fuel sectors, he has led global teams in strategic business change initiatives across multiple countries.

His research focuses on operational excellence methodologies including Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and business transformation strategies. Gaffney is a certified Six Sigma Black Belt and has completed Six Sigma Master Black Belt training. He co-directs the Operations and Supply Chain Center at the Darla Moore School of Business.
