Peaks Krafft

Dr. Peaks Krafft is a Senior Lecturer and Course Leader of the MA Internet Equalities program at the UAL Creative Computing Institute. They hold a PhD in Computer Science from MIT (2017), with postdoctoral work at UC Berkeley and the University of Washington, and prior faculty experience at the University of Oxford. Their research focuses on critically oriented computer science, addressing social impacts of technology, institutional accountability, anti-racism in organizations, and conflicts of interest in tech funding. Krafft also examines how work is organized in tech and higher education sectors.

Krafft’s work interrogates systemic barriers to inclusion in tech fields, advocating for counter-power against societal oppression replicated in computing. They co-direct the Critical Platform Studies Group (CritPlat), an international collective challenging power structures in software. Active in tech justice movements, they participate in groups like NoTechForTyrants and United Tech and Allied Workers.
