Peđa Janackovic serves as a Full Professor at the Faculty of Biology, University of Belgrade, with an academic career spanning 30 years at the institution from Trainee Assistant (1994) to current Professor (2020). His foundational work in plant sciences establishes him as a key figure in Serbian botanical research.
His academic credentials include:
- Diploma in Biology (1993), University of Belgrade Faculty of Biology
- Master's degree in Biology (1997), University of Belgrade Faculty of Biology
- Doctorate in Biology (2004), University of Belgrade Faculty of Biology
Professor Janackovic's research centers on plant morphology, phytochemistry, and systematics, with particular emphasis on structural characteristics, chemical composition, and taxonomic classification of plant species. His methodological approach integrates classical botanical techniques with modern analytical chemistry to advance understanding of plant biodiversity and evolutionary relationships.
He actively contributes to sustainable agriculture initiatives through involvement in the TERRA_MADRE project (Ultimate biofortification and reshaping of soil microbiota), which addresses agrifood production, environmental protection, and human health through microbiome engineering.
