Paweł Muniak

Paweł Muniak serves as a Research and Teaching Assistant at the Department of Social Psychology within SWPS University's Faculty of Psychology in Warsaw. Concurrently pursuing his doctoral degree at SWPS University's Doctoral School, he holds a Research Fellow position in a National Science Centre-funded project examining mimicry's social contagion effects.

His research program centers on two interconnected domains: social influence through mimicry (analyzing behavioral, gestural, and speech imitation consequences) and unrealistic optimism (investigating cognitive mechanisms behind perceived immunity to negative life events). These strands converge in experimental studies exploring how social mirroring shapes risk perception and group dynamics.

Dr. Muniak teaches foundational courses in social psychology, critical text analysis, and research methodology while actively contributing to the Center for Research on Social Relations. His National Science Centre grant supports ongoing experimental work on interpersonal coordination's ripple effects, positioning him at the forefront of contemporary social psychology research in Poland.

His scholarly output spans experimental publications in premier journals including Journal of Experimental Social Psychology and Journal of Nonverbal Behavior, with collaborative projects extending to University of Warsaw research networks. Current teaching responsibilities integrate his research expertise into curriculum development for psychology students at multiple academic levels.
