Pavel Vernikov

Univ.-Prof. Pavel Vernikov is a violin professor at the Music and Arts Private University of the City of Vienna since 2004. He studied under renowned violinists David Oistrakh and S. Snitkovsky in Moscow, and furthered his education at institutions including the Stollarsky Academy of Music (Odessa), Novy Sad Academy of Music (Yugoslavia), and Paris Conservatory.

• Performing career: Active soloist and chamber musician with appearances at Carnegie Hall, Concertgebouw Amsterdam, and Teatro alla Scala Milan
• Teaching contributions: Founder of the Russian Academy of Advanced Studies in Portogruaro, and conducted training courses at Fiesole Academy of Music and Kuhmo Violin School

His research interests focus on violin performance techniques, historical interpretation of classical works, and pedagogical approaches to instrumental training.

Scientific recognition includes:

• Munich International Music Competition Prize
• Grand Prix at Vittorio Gui Competition in Florence

Vernikov plays the historic Pietro Guarnieri violin 'Baron Knoff' (Venice 1740) and has served as juror at numerous international music competitions.
