Education:
- Doctorate in Economics, Harvard University

- Bachelor in Economics, Universidade NOVA de Lisboa

The recent articles (2004–2025) reveal a clear evolution from theoretical models of voting and preference aggregation to interdisciplinary, policy-oriented research on human rights and legal protection. The earlier works engage with formal models of abstention and fuzzy preferences, while the 2024–2025 publications are deeply engaged with social justice, particularly through co-authored works on intersectional discrimination and white papers informing legal reform.
Scientific and Civic Engagement:
- Member, Scientific and Technical Group, Council of the Commission for Citizenship and Gender Equality
- Chair, Project Multiversity (2022–2024)
- Former leadership roles in ILGA-Europe, ILGA Portugal, and Amnesty International – Portugal
- Conducted numerous training sessions on equality and non-discrimination
- Active public and political intervention in campaigns for same-sex marriage and parenting rights
He has advised on public policy and participated in media discussions on equality issues, including the program Filhos da Mãe (2018). His work bridges academic rigor with real-world impact, particularly in advancing LGBTQ+ rights and inclusive policy design.
Laboratories and Research Teams:
He is actively involved in collaborative research networks, notably as co-chair of the Multiversity project, which brings together legal scholars, anthropologists, and economists to address multiple discrimination. This interdisciplinary team produced a significant white paper in 2024, indicating a structured and ongoing research initiative focused on systemic inequality.
