معرفی
Paulo Gimenez Cremonez is an Assistant Professor & Extension Specialist in Vegetable & Fruit Entomology at Auburn University's Department of Entomology & Plant Pathology. His role focuses on research and outreach related to integrated pest management (IPM) strategies for vegetable and fruit crops, emphasizing sustainable practices and insecticide resistance management. He holds a Ph.D., M.S., and B.S. in Agronomy (Entomology) from the State University of Londrina, Brazil.
Professional experience includes postdoctoral research at the University of Georgia (2021–2024) and current leadership in Alabama's pest management initiatives. His research spans insecticide resistance, pest monitoring, and non-chemical control tactics for organic crops. Extension efforts prioritize training growers and educators on IPM practices, fostering collaborations with regional specialists and promoting pesticide reduction.
Key research interests include evaluating insecticide efficacy through bioassays, studying sublethal pesticide effects on insects, and improving pest management through multi-level experimentation (field-greenhouse-lab). Recent work examines whitefly (Bemisia tabaci) resistance patterns and the impact of growth regulators on pest morphology.
Publications emphasize bioassay methodologies, pest physiology, and pesticide interactions with environmental factors. Extension projects aim to bridge research and practice, ensuring Alabama farmers adopt evidence-based, sustainable pest control measures.
