Paulo Condado is an Assistant Researcher at the Center for Environmental and Sustainability Research (CENSE), Faculty of Sciences and Technology, NOVA University Lisbon (FCT-UNL). Funded by the Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT/MCTES, CEECIND/00578/2017), his work bridges computer science and environmental sustainability, with a strong focus on inclusive technology.
Education:
- PhD in Electronic Engineering and Computer Science, University of Algarve, 2009
- 4-year undergraduate degree in Computer Science and Business (Management), University of Algarve, 2002
Research Interests:
Condado’s research agenda centres on creating technologies that enhance human capabilities and quality of life. His core themes include:
- Assistive Technologies for disability and rehabilitation
- Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) and User-Centred Design methodologies
- Domotic/ambient intelligence and home automation systems
- Human-Robot Interaction for social and service robotics
- Evolutionary Computation as an optimisation tool for complex systems
- Machine Learning applications in real-world, socially-oriented contexts
Scientific Recognition:
He received an Honorable Mention in the 2016 Alumni Career Award from the University of Algarve, acknowledging his trajectory and impact since graduation.
