Pauline Wade is a Professor of Practice in the Department of Computer Science & Engineering at Texas A&M University. She holds a B.S. (1987) and M.S. (1991) in Computer Science from Texas A&M University and Columbia University respectively. Previously, she served as Tenured Faculty at the University of the Philippines, Cebu, where she established the first university-based Technology Business Incubator (TBI) in the Philippines. Her research focuses on engineering education pedagogy for software quality assurance, software engineering methodologies, and empirical software practices.
With extensive industry experience spanning systems programming, telecom engineering at AT&T, and leadership roles in tech companies like Alliance Software, her career bridges academia and industry. Notable achievements include the 2021 Isadore T. Davis Award for educational-industry collaboration and PMP certification since 2008. She has authored influential papers on ethics in CS education, virtual teaching communities, and software quality assurance training methods. Her work emphasizes practical applications of technology through projects like the UP Cebu TBI and PRISM scheduling software.
