Pauline Grosjean is a Professor in the School of Economics at UNSW and holds fellowships from the Academy of the Social Sciences in Australia and the Centre for Economic Policy Research (CEPR). She previously taught at the University of San Francisco and UC Berkeley, and worked at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development. Her research explores how culture and institutions shape long-term economic development, with a focus on historical processes influencing cooperation, violence, gender norms, and political preferences.

She employs empirical methods, including historical analysis and field experiments, to study these themes.
