Dr. Paulina Napierała is an Assistant Professor at Jagiellonian University's Institute of American Studies and Polish Diaspora. She holds a PhD in Political Science (2011) and dual Master's degrees in International Relations and Cultural Studies (specializing in Ethnic Relations and International Migration), along with a Bachelor's in English Philology. Her academic career includes research stays at Boston College, Harvard Divinity School, CUNY Graduate Center, Union Theological Seminary, University of Michigan, and Stanford University.

Her research focuses on Church-State relations in the U.S., religion's role in American politics, and the intersection of religion with socio-political movements. Recent publications analyze Black churches' engagement in civil rights movements, theological divisions within African American communities, and religious influences on U.S. foreign policy. She has participated in over 30 international conferences, including presentations at CUNY Graduate Center, University of Siena, and University of Coimbra.
Notable projects include the CUNY Advanced Research Collaborative fellowship (2022-2023), National Science Foundation grants, and monographs on religion in the American public sphere. She serves as Managing Editor of 'Ad Americam' journal and has supervised the International Migration Research Club (2016-2022). Her work bridges political science, religious studies, and comparative historical analysis.
