Paula Alvaredo Olmos

Dr. Paula Alvaredo Olmos is an Associate Professor at the University Carlos III of Madrid (UC3M), affiliated with the Álvaro Alonso Barba Institute of Chemistry and Materials Technology and the Powder Technology Research Group. She serves as Director of the Doctoral Program in Materials Science and Engineering, focusing on advanced materials processing and high-entropy alloys (HEAs).

Her research centers on powder metallurgy and cermet development, emphasizing microstructure engineering, binder phase optimization, and high-temperature material behavior. She explores applications in biomedical implants, concentrated solar power, and additive manufacturing. Key techniques include spark plasma sintering, composite extrusion modeling, and electrical resistance sintering.

Recent publications highlight her work on CoCrMo biomedical alloys (2023), HEA corrosion resistance (2023), and multi-principal element alloys for energy storage (2024).
