Paul W. Hughes is a Visiting Clinical Lecturer in Law at Yale Law School and a partner at McDermott Will & Emery, co-chairing its Supreme Court and appellate practice. He specializes in complex appellate litigation, having argued over 30 cases across U.S. courts, including five U.S. Supreme Court cases. He co-directs Yale's Supreme Court Advocacy Clinic and has handled 250+ appellate matters, including 21 Supreme Court merits cases.
Education: J.D. from Yale Law School (2008), M.A. and A.B. from Georgetown University (2005 and 2004). Notable academic achievements include the Joseph A. Chubb Prize for legal draftsmanship and the C. LaRue Munson Prize for clinical work. He was also a senior editor of the Yale Law Journal.
