Paul Thomas is an Assistant Professor in the School of Applied and Creative Computing at Purdue University, teaching systems development and project management. He previously taught programming and software engineering at Kansas State University’s Department of Integrated Studies and has over three years of industry experience as an analyst at Accenture and HUB International.
- Education: PhD in Technology (2021) and MS in Computer and Information Technology (2017) from Purdue University, and a B.Tech in Computer Sciences & Engineering (2012) from Mahatma Gandhi University, India.
His research focuses on gamification, IT and project management education, and technology-supported active learning, with a strong emphasis on cybersecurity education, collaborative learning, and social engineering. His publications from 2016–2024 explore applications of gamification, AI in project management, intercultural competence in cybersecurity, and teamwork dynamics in educational settings. Recent work examines the use of ChatGPT for conflict resolution skills and AI tools in project management.
