Paul Schwartz is the Jefferson E. Peyser Professor of Law at Berkeley Law, University of California, Berkeley. He serves as Co-Director of the Berkeley Center for Law & Technology. His expertise spans information privacy, technology law, and the intersection of law and democracy. He joined Berkeley Law in 2006 after teaching at Brooklyn Law School and the University of Arkansas-Fayetteville.

His research focuses on legal regulation of information technology, including privacy in cloud computing, cross-border data governance, and the evolution of personally identifiable information (PII). He has authored influential articles in journals like the Harvard Law Review, University of Pennsylvania Law Review, and William & Mary Law Review. Co-author of Information Privacy Law (casebook) and Privacy Law Fundamentals (treatise).
