Paul Remley is a Professor in the Department of English at the University of Washington, affiliated with the College of Arts & Sciences. His research focuses on Old English literature, medieval Latin, manuscript studies, and Anglo-Saxon history. He holds degrees from the University of Cambridge (B.A. and M.A.) and Columbia University (M.Phil. and Ph.D.).
His career includes roles as chief editor of the annual bibliography for Anglo-Saxon England, contributions to the Compendium Auctorum Latinorum Medii Aevi, and collaboration with the SISMEL research association. He has co-authored works on Middle English prose with David C. Fowler and maintains editorial responsibilities for major medieval scholarship projects.
Remley’s teaching and research span Old and Middle English literature, medieval Latin traditions, and textual criticism. He is actively involved in academic organizations like SISMEL and contributes to the Medioevo Latino bibliography.
