Prof. em. Dr. Paul Pregosin is a Retired Adjunct Professor at the Department of Chemistry and Applied Biosciences, ETH Zurich. He holds a Ph.D. from the City University of New York (1970) and conducted postdoctoral research at Queen Mary College, University of London (1970–1971) and the University of Delaware (1971–1973). His research focuses on coordination chemistry, organometallic chemistry of transition metals, enantioselective catalysis, and applications of multinuclear NMR spectroscopy. He received the Werner Prize in 1980 and was honored with the title of Professor in Inorganic Chemistry in 1987.
Education:
- Ph.D., 1970, City University of New York
- Postdoctoral Research: Queen Mary College (1970–1971), University of Delaware (1971–1973)
Research Interests:
His work spans the coordination and organometallic chemistry of transition metals, with emphasis on enantioselective catalysis and advanced NMR techniques. These areas bridge fundamental inorganic chemistry with practical applications in materials science and spectroscopic analysis.
Awards:
- Werner Prize (1980)
