Paul O’Gorman

Paul O'Gorman is an Associate Professor and the Robert R. Schrock Professor of Atmospheric Science in the Department of Earth, Atmospheric and Planetary Sciences at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), where he leads research within the Program in Atmospheres, Oceans, and Climate.

His research focuses on atmospheric dynamics and the hydrological cycle, specifically investigating how climate change alters precipitation patterns and atmospheric circulation. His group contributes to MIT's Climate Grand Challenge project titled 'Preparing for a new world of weather and climate extremes,' aiming to develop predictive models for future climate scenarios.

Professor O'Gorman received an MIT Environmental Solutions Initiative Seed Grant in 2017 and develops climate education resources including instructional toolkits. He actively engages in climate justice initiatives and urban climate research, with contact email pog@mit.edu.
