Dr. Paul Nielsen is the Director and Chief Executive Officer of Carnegie Mellon University's Software Engineering Institute (SEI), a U.S. Department of Defense-funded research center advancing software engineering, cybersecurity, and AI. He previously served as a Major General in the U.S. Air Force, leading the Air Force Research Laboratory before retiring from military service.
