Paul Morrison is Professor of English at Brandeis University, where he has established himself as a leading scholar in literary criticism, film studies, and sexuality studies. He serves as Chair of the Interdepartmental Program in Film, Television and Interactive Media and is a member of the steering committee for this program.
Morrison's research interests span modernism, literary theory, cultural studies, sexuality, and film studies, with a particular focus on queer perspectives in cinema. His work consistently bridges literary criticism with film analysis, examining how cultural representations intersect with questions of identity, power, and subjectivity.
His publications demonstrate a consistent trajectory exploring the intersections of sexuality, literature, and film. His most recent work examines the representation of iconic female faces in Hollywood cinema through a queer theoretical lens, continuing his longstanding interest in how cultural forms articulate sexual subjectivity.
