معرفی
Paul Mitcheson is a Professor of Electrical Energy Conversion at Imperial College London's Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, part of the Faculty of Engineering. He leads the Control and Power Research Group and holds affiliations with the UK Power Electronics Centre. His expertise spans wireless power transfer, energy harvesting, and high-frequency power electronics.
- Education: MEng (2001) and PhD (2005) in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from Imperial College London.
Research focuses on advancing wireless power systems for dynamic environments, including agricultural sensors, drones, and biomedical devices. Notable contributions include coil misalignment correction, high-efficiency inverters, and multi-frequency WPT systems. He co-chaired PowerMEMS 2013 and sits on the UK Power Electronics Centre's executive committee.
Key achievements include IEEE Senior Membership and HEA Fellowship. His work integrates power electronics with emerging applications like soil-based sensor recharging and space-based solar power. Current projects emphasize low-energy sensor technologies and WPT system optimization for variable coupling scenarios.
- Awards: Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, Senior Member of IEEE.
Labs/Teams: Control and Power Research Group, collaborating on innovations such as batteryless drones powered by multi-MHz IPT systems. Active in both academic research and industry partnerships for practical WPT solutions.
