Paul Mason

Paul Mason is an Associate Professor of Accounting and holds the Plumhoff Endowed Chair in Accounting at Baylor University's Hankamer School of Business, where he teaches courses in federal taxation, energy accounting and law, and private equity investing within the Department of Accounting and Business Law.

Dr. Mason earned his PhD in Management Science (Finance Concentration) from the University of Texas at Dallas in 2015. His academic credentials also include a Master of Science in Finance and a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting, both completed at Texas A&M University in 2005.

Professor Mason's research program focuses on the intersection of taxation, private equity, and mergers and acquisitions. With substantial industry experience as a CPA and tax manager at PricewaterhouseCoopers and Ehrhardt, Keefe, Steiner, and Hottman, his scholarship bridges theoretical frameworks with practical applications in the natural resources sector and private equity finance.
